Standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 66 pounds, NEO Beta boasts impressive mobility, walking at 2.5 miles per hour and running at 7.5 miles per hour.
With a carry capacity of 44 pounds and a battery life of 2 to 4 hours per charge, this cutting-edge robot is designed for a variety of household tasks, from chores to providing companionship and support for those with mobility challenges. NEO Beta’s embodied AI enables it to understand and learn from its environment, and it can even be remotely operated by a human when needed.
The unveiling of NEO Beta marks a significant milestone in the race for affordable robot assistants, placing 1X Technologies alongside industry giants like China’s AGIBOT fleet and Tesla’s Optimus. 2. Amazon’s “Remarkable” Alexa: A Bold Leap with Anthropic’s Claude AI
Amazon is gearing up to launch a game-changing version of Alexa next month, dubbed the “Remarkable” edition, which will feature Anthropic’s Claude AI models instead of Amazon’s own technology. This shift comes after initial versions of Alexa, powered by Amazon’s in-house AI, faced issues with sluggish response times and subpar performance.

OpenAI has just announced a major milestone- ChatGPT now boasts over 200 million weekly users, doubling the number from last November. In comparison, Meta’s AI assistant has achieved 400 million monthly users and 185 million weekly active users, despite not yet being available in the UK, Brazil, or the EU. As tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Meta introduce their own AI tools, ChatGPT continues to set the bar high. Additionally, the US AI Safety Institute has announced that OpenAI and Anthropic will now subject their major AI models to government evaluation before public release.
Rumor has it that Apple and Nvidia may be eyeing investments in OpenAI’s next funding round. With these developments, ChatGPT is quickly becoming the go-to player in the AI space, much like the kid with all the rare Pokémon cards that everyone wants to befriend.
4. Over 2,000 Seat Belt Violations Detected: AI Cameras Highlight Safety Concerns
In Devon and Cornwall, AI-powered cameras have identified more than 2,000 seat belt violations, including incidents involving unrestrained children, between July and August 2024. This alarming trend has prompted road safety officials, including Adrian Leisk from Devon and Cornwall Police, to call for stricter measures, such as adding penalty points to seat belt fines to emphasize the importance of safety.
Key findings include 109 cases involving children, ongoing welfare checks for those affected, and a commitment to extend the AI camera project to new areas like Plymouth and Torbay. Seth Marks, who suffered severe injuries in a crash due to not wearing a seat belt, supports tougher penalties, reflecting on how a seat belt could have changed his life.
Originally developed by Australian company Acusensus, these cameras have proven effective in reducing violations and mobile phone offences in Australia. With this technology now expanding, the message is clear: buckle up or face the consequences.
